I found this jellyfish like critter while swimming in Panglao. I had Biboy scramble back to shore for a plastic bag to put it in.
The idea was just to take pictures of it and immediately return it to the sea, but I got curious. So, I laid it on the sand and started poking its body with a piece of coral. It was delightfully squishy! My little sister cried out in protest as I continued to jab at the poor thing. It eventually stopped squirming and my sister declared me a murderer. She insisted we give it a proper burial under the palm trees.
Biboy and I also found this hermit crab on the shore.
I started teasing it with my dress laces until its claws clamped on and almost tore the lace from my dress!
I kept it in a plastic cup for the night and pretended it was my pet.
You'd be happy to know that I let it go back home the following day.
This has been all over the news.
"I have flights and accomodations booked for May. I mean, please stop all this rioting already. I intend to have a fab summer holiday. I don't need your politics spoiling it. Make up your minds about your PM and get on with it," said the politically retarded, insensitive, selfish, Valley ditz who sometimes resides in me.
We're (Biboy, Atchie, Cherry and I) off to Cebu tomorrow for the Sinulog Festival. We'll only be there until Monday morning, then we'll hop on over to Bohol for some sun (hopefully) and surf. This is the nth time I've gone to Cebu and Bohol, but it just never gets old for me. Here is my to do list for our lightning visit. Cebu: Bohol: I hope the weather gods will be kind and bless us with blue unclouded skies while we are there.
On board 5J 571. Minutes after a dusk takeoff. I am headed back to dreamland... I've always loved night flights. I like seeing city lights from afar. There is magic in how they twinkle and glitter. White, blue, red, and orange lights. Forming curious galaxies, resonating with memories of the familiar, promising thrills of the unknown. Tonight the city lights flicker with sadness. I am leaving terra firma.
What was the best thing about your weekend?
I spent the weekend with Mama and Micah in CEB. These two have been traipsing the globe lately while I would be stuck in the office teaching a bunch of people about 'travel'. So while CEB is no BKK, I was still excited to spend time with my two favourite girls.
It was a weekend filled with shopping and eating. My mum, being the madame that she is hardly spent 15 minutes at Magellan's Cross. She would not tolerate the heat and dust. Aics and I contented ourselves by snapping away. Pictures later.
The real highlight of our weekend getaway was the return flight. We were scheduled for the 10:20 AM trip with 5J. As usual, the Congresswoman could not be hurried. We arrived at the airport at ten on the dot, only to find the check-in counter closed. Nobody would accomodate us on our flight and this snotty airport staff advised us to rebook since 5J did not have a standby policy.
Off my mum went to the ticketing office and rebooked the three of us for a later flight. For rebooking, 5J has a 20.28USD penalty fee plus any increase in the fare per passenger. Mama had to pay around 200USD for the 7PM flight that day! This was way more than the budget roundtrip ticket we bought in the first place.
Tsk. Sucks to be late.
But, it's wonderful to have Madame and Duysduys as my main girls!
